I completely agree with Pramad.

If you are in any way concerned about the flu jab, please do look further than the mainstream media. I personally recommend the NHS Evidence website – http://www.evidence.nhs.uk, the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (they write the NHS guidelines) – http://www.nice.org.uk and the gold standard of international healthcare research, The Cochrane Collaboration – http://www.cochrane.org

Of course, all these websites recommend the use of Tamiflu as a primary intervention for swine flu. If you want a good hysterical conspiracy, then I recommend sticking on your tinfoil hat and hitting up any of Pramad or Sue’s websites – but be careful!! Big brother is watching you…..

Can someone please explain the difference between the production of this particular vaccine and the yearly seasonal vaccine that millions everywhere have without such conspirational squakking?

Are you humans turning into zombies or cybermen or something when having it?

Funny how the Wakefield/MMR shambles is now seeing deaths from measles rising up in those middle class areas of the UK that read the Daily Mail.

Giving any jabs to little chicks is questionable, but by the time they’re five and learning to fly, they can cope. Mine have. They may not get the mutated H1N1 when it comes around next. That’s good enough for this Gull.

After reading many comments on other sites relating to guernsey it seems a split decission by most and I cant blame you on both sides its a decission not to be taken likely but when you are getting 50 per cent of doctors in the uk and health care workers all over the world taking law suits out to stop the vaccine you need to ask your self why.look at the talk by gary nulls he explains his talk brilliantly I really want to get a forum together where we can discuss the pros and cons before we decide just for guernsey people and possibly jersey sark and even herm .so i will leave a email address for people to contact me and possible get a forum open in the next couple of days and hopefully the word will spread about this forum ?If interested contact me at this email address i will respond with all the info i have come across both positive and negative ITS zainaom@yahoo.co.uk

Idont know if any one has realised this but if ths iswine flu mutates the vaccine will be useless ask your doctor as him to give it to you in writing also as there is no compensation for damages from the vaccine ask your doctor to sign a letter you have produced asking him to except responsability for any damages to you or your family including catching swine flu from the vaccine as someare reporting ,do this to protect your selves ,If you take alot and research you will notice there is a mutated version growing slowing across the globe especially ukraine where many were effected and now france a few italy a few usa afew holland afew norway afew poland afew etc my concern is will the vaccine work ,i doubt it dr deagle a infected disease expert says no ,I Believe the vaccine will be made compulsory before long and i will explane why at a later date ,possibly after christmas ,ps kept it in all lower case for the benifit of those who wer eoffended of my shouting from the roof tops lol.i will create a email address and put it her soon for any one that wants to discuss this further let me know

They can kiss my *** if they think my kids are gonna have it. Being that Guernsey doesn’t have the capacity to fully test this stuff they want to use kids as guinea pigs. What right do they have to tell people what is going to happen? NONE. So fine, do whatever it is you do but leave my kids out of the situation. The injection itself merely blocks the virus’s ability to replicate, if you don’t have it in the 1st place there is nothing for the vaccine to block. I wouldn’t eat food that I didn’t know what is it so why would I want something injected into my family members?

The influenza pandemic planning, in Guernsey, UK or internationally, draws experience from past pandemics. We can avoid problems of the past hopefully by learning their lessons. Pandemics have occasionally in the past started benign, as in the main Swine flu currently, but later can become much more serious.
The concern with a new flu virus is mutating to a more serious but equally infectious type. This has occurred in a small way but so far thankfully those strains have not ‘taken hold’ in the community. Vaccination is recommended now as we can not predict if and when this would occur.

Squalene has been mentioned. This is a fish oil extract and has been used in more than 25 million flu vaccines in the past decade with no associated risks seen.
The World Health Organisation have said 65 million Swine flu vaccines given so far, ‘matched the excellent safety profile’ of the normal seasonal influenza vaccines which have been used for two decades. The European agency EMEA this week has confirmed the same for 5 millions doses given in Europe.

The health agencies world wide are only advising vaccinating to save lives and prevent possible prolonged hospital treatment in those considered most vulnerable. We should not expect any less.

I have an 18 month old baby (and an older child) and am expecting the vaccination letter to drop through my letterbox shortly. What I am most uneasy about is the speed at which this is all happening and the uncertainty about the virus. Basically I cannot seem to find out exactly how mamy people in the C.I. have actually contracted swine flu – from what I can gather the medical profession only tested a couple of cases in Guernsey which turned out to be negative and then decided it was ineffective(too costly…?) to test each suspected case and therefore anyone turning up to the doctor with more than a sniffle is now being treated as ‘potential’ swine flu sufferer – there do not appear to be any ‘official’ figures. I am not saying that people haven’t contracted swine flu but from experience with 2 children there are a hell of a lot of viruses out there to catch and I am not convinced that having this vaccination will keep my child safe – I am not actually convinced that IT is safe and will therefore not swap one risk (swine flu) for another (the vaccination) without further evidence that having the jab will benefit my child and not possibly harm him.

Well I have been offered the vaccine for my 2 year old, and I have to say that we have debated long and hard whether to have it, I think that firstly swine flu like all other forms of flu is probably bad in some cases, like people with a lowered immune system etc., but I think that there are a lot of people that do scare monger and make loads of cash out of this, as for the people saying we should vaccinate all under 5’s, is it because they are worried that they are spreading it the most? and our healthcare cannot cope with it, or the cost of it?!! also in America in 1976 when there was an outbreak of swine flu it killed 1 person and hospilised 13 but the vaccine for the H1N1 strain caused 500 cases of Guillain–Barré syndrome and also cause 25 deaths. This is what made my mind up Not to have the Vaccine.

I think you should all realise how lucky you are in Guernsey. At least your doctors are trying to protect your children. The children in Sark haven’t even been offered the vaccine.
