GUERNSEY will have to make their new year push for promotion without Divon Crouse.

The dynamic South African scrum half has recently joined the Fire & Rescue Service and due to work commitments has been ruled out of action for the coming months.

‘Divon has started his training course, which means he will not be available to play for the rest of the season, but should be able to play once completed and back in Guernsey full-time,’ said Guernsey first-team captain Simon Sharrott.

‘In the meantime this gives other scrum halves at the club a great opportunity and we have also seen what Jordan Reynolds can do in this position.’

Guernsey have dropped to fourth in the table following three rearranged fixtures on Saturday.

Wins for London Irish Amateur and London Cornish have lifted both clubs from the capital two points above them, having played a game extra.

However, Guernsey have the ideal opportunity to regain ground on Saturday when they host London Irish Amateur at Foote’s Lane (2pm kick off).
