Lucy Campbell, 27, was fired by Augentius Fund Administration last February.
The tribunal ruled that her dismissal was sex discrimination.
Tribunal chairwoman Caroline Latham said the company had taken a ‘cavalier approach’ to Miss Campbell’s contract of employment.
Miss Campbell hoped her case would stop Augentius from treating other employees in a similar way.
‘I am really pleased to have won,’ she said yesterday.
‘I hope people aren’t treated like this elsewhere, and hopefully this company will treat employees more fairly in the future.’
Miss Campbell is still at home with her six-month-old daughter, Ava Surry, but she is hoping to go back to work soon.

A paltry pay out with little deterrent.

Andy – I believe that the entitlement by law for an unfair dismissal is 6 months salary – the tribunal can’t award any more than that.

As well as the financial implication for the employer, there’s also the negative publicity to take into account.
I suspect in the long run that this would cost more than the 6 months’ salary award.
