Businesses told to build on what they have

BUSINESSES need to make the most of what they have instead of waiting for new property opportunities, commercial property experts have said.

Industry figures spoke yesterday at the IoD’s latest seminar, Your property – great asset or major headache?

It followed the recent publication of proposals for a new Strategic Land Use Strategy, which encourages provision for new office development within main island centres such as currently-unused land at Admiral Park.

The Policy Council’s strategic planning officer, Damon Hackley, who opened the discussion by explaining what the plan contained, said that if accepted by the States in November, it would be up to Environment to incorporate the proposals in the review of its development plans.
