GUERNSEY FINANCE has been assessing the potential for increasing flows of private wealth management business to the island from Latin America.

Chief executive Peter Niven led a team of local industry professionals at the inaugural Step Latam Conference held in Panama.

Mr Niven (pictured) said Guernsey Finance had built very strong relationships with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in recent years, working with the organisation on a number of projects including attending Step Asia in Singapore last month.

‘Step is recognised as the leading professional body for the wealth management sector and so when it was announced that they would be hosting an inaugural Latin America conference, then it was of immediate interest to us given the way in which it aligns with our strategy,’ he said.
