‘A DAVID in a world of Goliaths’ is how JT chief executive Graeme Millar describes the company.

But an ambitious five-year growth strategy, which included last week’s launch of JT in Guernsey in a blaze of publicity, could change all that.

At present JT is dwarfed even by its global competition – Cable & Wireless and Airtel-Vodafone, as part of India’s Bharti group.

‘Our challenge is to grow to be big enough to sustain ourselves as a modern telco,’ Mr Millar said. With a career at Motorola, Vodafone and two years with the biggest mobile company in Russia, he knows all about big business.
