Condor welcomes new chief

CONDOR has finally announced a replacement for managing director Simon Edsall, who left the company in March.

James Fulford, pictured, joins Condor from the Isle of Wight, where he was chief executive of ferry firm Red Funnel for the past four years. He will take on the newly-created role of chief executive officer on 2 January.

‘We are delighted to welcome James to Condor Ferries. He has wide-ranging experience in all aspects of the leisure and tourism industry  as well as a practical understanding of island life. We look forward to working with James in the new year,’ said Gordon Parsons, chairman of the Condor Group.

Mr Fulford substantially grew the freight business for Red Funnel, which operates between Southampton and the Isle of Wight, and delivered change across the organisation, focusing on passenger experience, organisational cultural change and proactive asset management.
