GFSC pledges to become more efficient
Wednesday 28th November 2012, 11:00AM GMT.
EFFICIENCY is the watchword of the chairman of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission for 2013.
But Cees Schrauwers, pictured, told the commission’s annual industry presentation that progress was unlikely to happen overnight and warned the commission’s many industry critics that he wanted to hear specific complaints, not general moaning, if they were unhappy.
‘I hear people say: “He’s a good talker – but does he walk the walk?”’ Dr Schrauwers told a packed St James.
‘It takes nine months to make a baby. You can’t go any faster than that. Sometimes time needs to elapse to do things.
‘I am a businessman who has dealt with regulators the world over. I know what businessmen want from a regulator and I want Guernsey to be as effective as it possibly can.’
