Apprenticeship scheme review goes online for more feedback

A REVIEW of the Guernsey apprenticeship scheme is offering very positive feedback.

Elaine Monkhouse, chairwoman of Skills Guernsey, pictured, was appointed by the Education Department late last year to oversee an independent review of the States Apprenticeship Scheme.

The department wanted to ensure that the scheme – which has run in the island for more than 50 years – continued to meet the needs of employers, apprentices and the economy, and offered best value for money.

‘In the few weeks that I have been undertaking the review it is very clear that employers and apprentices have very strong views about Guernsey’s apprenticeship scheme,’ said Dr Monkhouse.
