Annual IoD debate ‘still relevant’
Wednesday 2nd October 2013, 10:25AM BST.
THE annual Institute of Directors debate is still a relevant event for business people in the island, its chairman has said.
Speaking on the eve of this year’s event, Mark Palfrey, pictured, said he believed the debate could give important leads for his organisation.
‘This is an excellent opportunity for us to gauge the mood of the membership on the issues that matter most,’ he said.
‘It’s an open forum and we can debate issues – we have some headings to stimulate debate, but if other matters come to the fore they can be discussed properly and as a committee we will have a focus for action for the coming year.’
Mr Palfrey said he was looking forward to his first debate as chairman, the 22nd run by the organisation.
‘This is the best way to truly engage with our members.’
