MEMBERS of Guernsey’s investment community are hoping that the Channel Islands Stock Exchange can survive or will re-emerge as a new entity.
They said that the exchange was crucial to the island’s status as an international finance centre, and particularly for the thriving investment funds sector.
‘We are big supporters of the new board and have faith that the right executive team will be put in place,’ said Ravenscroft chief executive officer Jon Ravenscroft.
‘We believe and trust in the GFSC as well and hope that this is just a blip, that the investigation will now be concluded swiftly and properly and that we can move on and get back to business as normal.
‘There will be concerns if this goes on too long. We have several listings lined up which we will now have to put on hold and others may not be so patient.’
