Rolf: The point of building additional car parking spaces would be to fill those spaces..... obviously. That would increase the volumes of traffic already entering St Peter Port (or anywhere else you put a large car park). We should be trying to ease congestion, not add to it. Trying to accommodate a constant increase in car journeys is futile and ignores the wider issues resulting from excessive car-dependency. This constant call for additional car-parking is illogical and out of date.
