Agree with @Rufus. When I was young, and the island was a much poorer place, the bus ruled. But then there were no big supermarkets and my gran used to go to the Markets every week to buy fish, meat and veg. The world has changed, life has changed. Shops are open almost 24/7. Buses are irrelevant and about time we stopped throwing money at them. If paid parking is introduced, what is left of Town, and there isn't much, will go. And that will be just another tax on the population and there are enough of those as it is.
