@GM I have been following your excellent posts on this subject (you made mincemeat of Sparty) so can you tell me why the States cannot simply make an executive decision NOT to bail out this scheme with public money? Or put another way, why cannot the States protect the public purse from being raided for this thoroughly unsustainable scheme in just the same way that practically all private companies had to protect themselves by ending their final salary schemes in order to avoid going bust? If there is no money there from Joe 'the mug' Public' to meet the shortfall, surely Lanning and his Militant Tendency mates could huff and puff all they like. If the money ain't there it ain't going to make a difference.
