To reduce the fear from the public it would make common sense to park one at the airport and one at the harbour. The police would get more time cleaning and polishing their vehicles instead of the dirty state they are at present. I fear more if they are used for general duties and they are away from their vehicle visiting someone with a summons and somebody hijacking the vehicle and letting loose with the explosives on board.
