I'd put a tax on fizzy drinks but from a totally different perspective - the plastic bottles which are a real menace. I'd slap 20p land fill tax on every plastic bottle, whether it contains sugary drinks, cancerous aspartame concoctions or just plain water. Yes, I know they can be recycled these days but most of the fat lazy kids and yoofs who consume this muck simply chuck their plastic bottles afterwards, usually onto our roads and streets.
