Beanjar. I do think that Guernsey has to do what it can to address our contribution to what is widely acknowledged to be a serious problem. We might seem small in the overall scheme of things but every human being on the planet could say the same thing. We are the same as 60,000 people anywhere else and I think measured up against any other similarly sized community, we probably would not come off too well. I can't think of a reason why we should think ourselves 'special' and in any less need to do what we can for the greater good of everyone. However I have to totally agree with you re the 'greenwash' that is commonly used by so many businesses to try to convince us that they 'care', when in reality it is often more about them making a saving on their costs or just trying to project an image for marketing purposes.
