Marc Laine
The one thing we can learn from history is to expect the unexpected. I have covered most of the expected subjects in my manifesto. My aim here is to give you a taster of my thinking, but more importantly to demonstrate to you that I am qualified to adapt, exploit and manage the unexpected challenges that will surely develop ahead.
Through a series of bungles, overspends and bickering, the States has lost public support. The next States must regain that trust and deliver fair and equitable policies.
I aim to represent the ordinary, law abiding, respectful yet frustrated families. We want the lights to stay on, jobs, our children to prosper in a safe world; we want to face retirement with confidence and to get better when we are ill.
I will:
* Safeguard our way of life by nurturing our economy and balancing it with our needs. This includes sticking with the zero ten strategy.
* Develop and implement the Government Business Plan and start prioritizing spending.
* Be tough on crime.
* Support open government.
* Back climate change initiatives in a practical way.
* Be a children’s champion.
