The reason I am running for people’s deputy:
I am just a normal Guernsey person like you that lives on this wonderful Island. However I believe something has happened and Guernsey has lost what once made it great. Guernsey once had thriving tourist and growing industries. We now have financial services, which are nothing more than institutions for avoiding UK and global taxes. Inflation driven by these institutions, makes it harder and harder for the common Guernsey man to rent or buy property and it looks to be getting worse, this is why I am running for peoples deputy.
I am your voice
If elected any decision I make will be based on 2 principles. Is it fair to the Guernsey man and will it benefit the island as a whole? I am not there to impose my beliefs on you, I am there as your voice.
Where is your money going?
We need to look at how we spend our money. Government overspends and court costs running in to many thousands but recouping 100 or 200 fines for speeding or using your mobile at the wheel.

Much as I don’t like the tax strategy it is done now so we must create a safety net. I blame this on the States of Guernsey putting all their eggs in one basket with Financial Services. What we need are new industries that are sustainable, growing and tourism for instance. For example why not develop a market for organic vegetables. New industries will act as a safety net to help get close this black hole and help keep our island making money.
Don’t talk about change vote for it. Vote for me, and deputies like me. Together we can make Guernsey a great place again.
