Matt Fallaize
I’m an ordinary Guernsey boy with a young family living on a modest salary. I’m not seeking election for reasons of status or social advancement. I’m running because our island needs political change and because now is the time for a new generation to stand up and meet the profound challenges ahead. I have the patience, dedication and courage to see these challenges through.
The next States will shape what our island is to become. I’m a ‘political animal’ and I cannot stand aside from the contest that will determine our future and the future of our children.
I’m standing as a real ‘outsider’ against several high-profile sitting deputies. But I’m comfortable with the tag of ‘underdog’. I don’t pretend to have all the answers because I know that I still have much to learn, and I won’t make promises I can’t keep.
I hope all candidates stick to debating policies and stay away from bickering and ‘personality politics’. This election must focus on the issues that matter - the economy, public services and quality of life.
If elected, I will pursue everything in my manifesto with absolute integrity and commitment. I will never forget my principles and policies so as to fit in more easily with other States members. But I will work hard as part of a team because no deputy can achieve anything alone.
I don’t want to become the sort of politician who merely knocks down everyone else’s ideas while failing to present any of my own. We have too many of that type in the States already. So throughout this campaign I will present my alternative ideas and policies in detail and as openly and honestly as possible.
I shall hand deliver my manifesto to all Vale voters. I also have a website - www.mattfallaize.com
