Format for Receiving Artwork

1. Artwork must be supplied in PDF format.
2. PDFs should be saved as version 1.3 or 1.4.
3. When creating PDF artwork please ensure all colour settings are set to CMYK and NOT RGB. Make sure all colour elements within the PDF are also set to CMYK. All mono artwork should be converted to Greyscale.
4. When sending PDFs to The Guernsey Press we recommend using Adfast, www.adfast.co.uk. This site allows you to
   transmit your artwork to The Guernsey Press and receive an Advert Tracking Email to inform you when the artwork has been uploaded and downloaded successfully.
5. Your Guernsey Press contact will supply you with a URN (unique reference number) at the time of booking. All files sent to us MUST bear this URN number. Note: If the PDF is not created as above, we cannot accept responsibility for the advertisement appearing incorrectly or not appearing. We do not accept complete advertisements by email.

Colour Reproduction

The Guernsey Press is a newspaper, and colour will not look the same as commercially printed advertising material.

Our colour quality is industry standard if not higher, but we will never achieve the registration of sheet fed printers.

We recommend consultation with our Production department on 01481 240240 prior to sending colour artwork if there are any doubts or concerns about registration.

The Guernsey Press cannot be held liable for reproduction if these criteria are not followed.
General suggestions and guidelines for production of advertisements
We would suggest the following:-

• Avoid serif type styles as the fineness of the serifs can be lost with small type sizes.
• Do not use a font size of less than 7 point for colour adverts and 6 point for mono.
• If reversing out of the four colour process, we would suggest using just one of the four CMYK colours.
