FAMILY and friends are awaiting confirmation that Sue and Richard Schofield, who moved to Brisbane in 2001, are safe from the floods that have struck the city.
They know they evacuated their home yesterday.
Richard’s father, Phil, who lives in Guernsey, said that Sue had left a message on her sister’s voicemail saying they had evacuated.
‘But her mobile died and we haven’t heard from them since,’ the 78-year-old said. ‘We know they’re in their car and we believe they are safe. They are in a bit of a valley where they live but there is higher land above, so I think they are OK.’
