Schofields and their home escape Brisbane floods

THE local family of Richard and Sue Schofield, pictured right, have received confirmation that the couple escaped the floods in Brisbane.
Richard’s father, Phil, who lives in Guernsey, said he had spoken to his son who had returned to his house, which escaped being flooded by only inches.
The colonial style house sits on stilts a couple of feet high. On Wednesday, the couple evacuated, and anticipated losing their home.
But yesterday Mr Schofield’s father said he had spoken to his son, who was safe.
