ISLAND folklore has been put on the map.
Neil Inder of local e-media agency Submarine has added points of historical interest to a Google map of the island which is available online.
Company director Mr Inder said he had been using mapping technology for clients for several years. Google had recently changed its map of Guernsey to provide greater accuracy, which opened up a new level of opportunities.
‘As a Guernseyman, I’ve always been interested in Guernsey’s history,’ he said.
‘I started down this route trying to map all of the visible archaeological points of reference, such as our beautiful parish churches and megalithic structures such as Le Dehus Dolmen and La Longue Rocque.
‘Through researching this, I stumbled upon a whole new area of folklore that leads us down historical and oral traditions.’
