A Hole lot of changes going on
Thursday 4th December 2003, 12:00AM GMT.
THE former Marquand Brothers premises have been transformed. A new Holeshot shop opened there on Saturday and the response exceeded expectations. ‘I’m really pleased with the response and we’ve had a lot of positive comments about the shop fit,’ said manager Marc Maubec. After it was stripped, the building underwent a seven-week refit. ‘We have tried to make the shopping experience a customer has here different from other shops. We’ve used various woods, metals and timbers,’ said Michel Maubec, who did the shop fit. He added that the larger premises meant that adult and children’s clothing was all in the same shop, creating more of a family shopping atmosphere. Holeshot has been looking for bigger premises for more than a year, so when the property came up, it was the ‘ideal opportunity’. The shop stocks normal casual clothes and accessories as well as specialist snowboarding, skiing and surf wear. Julie Rogers was visiting from England and was impressed with the shop. ‘It’s really nice. There’s a good selection of stuff. In Cheshire, we have quite a few shops like this, but they’re smaller. There’s more stock and choice here,’ she said. The layout was ‘really nice’, according to 26-year-old Jo Loft. ‘I never really shopped in the other one; there were not that many girl things. Obviously this is better, as it’s got women’s clothes – I will definitely shop here more often.’
