Back-to-work Jo takes top job at Leapfrog
Tuesday 13th April 2004, 12:00AM BST.
LEAPFROG recruitment agency has appointed Jo Sebire as its new managing director. She has more than five years’ recruitment experience and is returning to work after a two-year break looking after her two young children.
‘I was looking forward to coming back and this was an opportunity that was too good to miss,’ she said.
‘It is a really exciting time to work for a company that is in its infancy but has a really good reputation.
‘Since it opened in 2001, it has developed a reputation for providing a high standard of service to candidates and clients and we will be looking to continue to provide this excellent customer service as well as building on the business and taking it forward.’
Two permanent consultants, Laura Goguelin and Fiona Wright, are part of the team, together with administrative backup support. More staff could be employed in the coming year.
‘We will be looking to expand and build up and we have the space here,’ said Mrs Sebire, 31.
She added that she was very lucky to be working with an experienced team with knowledge of dealing with junior through to executive placements. She takes over from Anne Ruddy, who is leaving the island in May to go travelling and who set up the company three years ago.
‘We all have clear vision of where we will be taking the company and I am looking forward to working with a team who are very driven and committed to Leapfrog and its future,’ said Mrs Sebire.
Juggling her new work commitments and looking after Edward, six, and Henry, 16 months, is much easier with the help of a nanny.
‘I have got a great nanny. It helps that I have no worries about that.
‘Being at home, I missed the client contact and I am looking forward to catching up with old clients and familiar voices and faces. It means it is not too much of a culture shock coming back to work.’
There are a lot of initiatives planned for the coming year and areas of new business, but as of now, Leapfrog is keeping them under wraps. It wants people to know that although the company was launched to deal with the junior end of the market, it now also places senior positions. People come for careers advice and guidance as well as to specifically look for a job.
‘It is so important to treat people with respect and make them feel that they are the only person you have seen that day – that is how I treat recruitment,’ said Mrs Sebire.
‘We also want to tailor-make the company for the clients.’
Mrs Sebire is currently preparing to run the London Marathon and is looking forward to the occasion, even though it will be the furthest run she has ever done by quite some distance.
