BARCLAYS has appointed Daniel (Niel) De Kock as the latest member of its Guernsey corporate client relationship management team. Mr De Kock has extensive experience in banking in his homeland of South Africa and worked as a management consultant with responsibility for strategic direction and client-team management in the USA.
He holds an MBA in strategic marketing and has a master’s in business science, for which he looked at the impact of e-commerce on the international banking and financial services industry and its influence on management decision-making in executing strategy. Mr De Kock is also in the final year of study for his doctorate in corporate finance. He moved to the UK in 2003 and worked for the company as a personal banker at its busy Basingstoke branch.
As a Guernsey relationship manager, he will be responsible for managing a portfolio of local corporate clients and will build new relationships for Barclays.
‘It is an exciting time to be in Guernsey and I believe my extensive banking experience will be invaluable as I maintain and build on client relationships,’ said Mr De Kock.
Barclays’ head of local business teams Steve Berry said Mr De Kock’s appointment was a reflection of the bank’s success.
