No loss for Julie-Anne and Richard
Wednesday 18th August 2004, 12:00AM BST.
A NEW loss-adjusting company has been opened in Guernsey to service the local insurance industry. Husband-and-wife team Richard and Julie-Anne Headington have formed Channel Islands Adjusters. They will focus on claims for local insurance companies and brokers.
‘In the event of a fire, flood or any other such incident, policyholders, insurance companies and brokers require a rapid response.
‘Any concerns or issues need to be addressed quickly and matters put in place to enable the individual or business to return to normal as soon as possible,’ said Mr Headington, a chartered insurance practitioner with 19 years’ experience in the industry.
He has considerable experience in the local insurance market and has been involved in most of the major insurance-related claims of recent times, including fires at a number of hotels and motor traders.
Channel Islands Adjusters will handle both domestic and commercial cases. Incidents such as fire, theft, storm flood, water damage, subsidence and anything else covered by an insurance contract will be dealt with.
Mrs Headington, who holds the Chartered Insurance Institute’s diploma, said that local business was often varied.
‘Incidents can range from marine accidents and oil spills though to lorries crashing into garages – earlier this year Richard had to deal with two such incidents in one week.’
