KYLIE ROBILLIARD helped herself to another title and Laura Arblaster produced a big personal best in the triple jump as four Guernsey athletes pulled on Hampshire vests at the Southern Counties under-17 championships in Kingston. Robilliard put behind her disappointment of crashing at the English Schools championships to beat big rival Chloe van Wulven in a time of 11.53sec. against a minus two headwind on a cold and wet day in the capital.

She also went in the 300m hurdles and claimed third place in 47.23sec.

Arblaster competed in three events and took third in the triple jump with a best leap of 10.67m, a 22cm improvement on her previous best.

The Ladies’ College schoolgirl also placed fifth in both the 100 and 200 in times of 13.4 and 27.63 respectively.

Gemma Tingay competed in three throwing events, her best performance coming in the javelin where she placed third with 30.44m.

She was also fifth in the shot with 9.29 and 12th in the hammer with 22.13.

Mark Mercier ran the 1,500m steeplechase and finished fourth in 4-49.6.

Robilliard and Arblaster were also in action in the 4x 100m relay where they helped Hampshire to second place behind Surrey, who were also the overall winners.

Hampshire were third in the final standings with Kent taking second.
