Petit finds a capable stand-in

Saturday 30th October 2004, 12:00AM BST.

ROHAIS had to call on three reserves for their latest Men’s Division One match and paid the price against the St Andrews’ first team. In a very competitive contest St Andrew’s took advantage of Rohais’ weaker pair, but with Quentin Petit playing with Kevin Le Moigne, who was standing in for the injured Darren Le Tissier, they were made to struggle.

Petit and Le Moigne still won twice, but only just beat John Stuart and Keith Enevoldsen 17-14 in the third when they were 9-14 down in the decider.

St Andrew’s Chris Le Tissier and Martyn Barbe also did well to take the island players to three making the overall result 8-4 to the Saints who top the division with Rohais B second and Rohais A in third.

In Women’s Division Two, Colts played their first ever match and did well to beat Rohais’ more experienced team 9-3.

In the top flight of the mixed Rohais’ top pairing of Quentin Petit and Lisa Hayward have continued with their winning streak by claiming the full six points for the third match in a row.

This puts them clearly in the lead in the pairs aggregate and their team head the division by a comfortable margin.
