GUERNSEY company Digimap has received a top accolade at a global conference in Palm Springs, California. Specialising in geographic information systems and online digital mapping, it received the Foundation Partner of the Year award.
Managing director Colin Le Conte was delighted to receive it at the ESRI worldwide business conference from Jack Dangermond, who is acknowledged within the industry as the Bill Gates of the GIS world.
‘Our aim is to ensure local businesses receive maximum benefit from the States of Guernsey mapping, but it is great to receive worldwide recognition for the achievements of Digimap and the hard work of the staff,’ said Mr Le Conte.
Digimap is the States’ official partner for the sale of the Bailiwick of Guernsey digital map.
Deputy Bill Bell, chairman of the States Digimap management board, was proud to have led the project over the last eight years.
‘It has been most interesting and it has been good to see both the public and private sector making such good and widespread use of the States of Guernsey mapping,’ said Deputy Bell.
‘This is in no small way due to Digimap’s great expertise, experience and efforts and it is pleasing that they have received the recognition they deserve.’
Digimap has been asked to give a presentation at the ESRI UK business partner conference this month.
