Briggs now consistently up with the UK’s best

STEWART BRIGGS notched up a top 10 finish in the latest round of the UK Windsurfing Association’s Racing Cup Series. He achieved this at the recent Eastern Cup in Clacton-on-Sea.

The number-one Guernsey windsurfer won two gold medals at last year’s Shetland Island Games.

With help from Deutsche Bank, he has entered this summer’s national championship with the aim of finishing in the top 10 in the country.

The previous leg of the series in Bridlington was cancelled due to lack of wind.

‘I was pleased with my performance at the UKWA Eastern Cup in Clacton and feel as though I continue to make progress and am now consistently challenging the leaders of the fleet,’ said Briggs.

‘I was particularly happy to have obtained top-10 placings in the first four races, although I realise I still have more work to do to get an overall top-10 finish.’
