AARON BAILEY continued his domination of the Guernsey Triathlon Club’s C.I. Lighting Time Trial Series, winning a 10-mile event. Bailey knocked over a minute off his personal best time with a lifetime-fastest 21.14, equalling the quickest time for the distance on Guernsey roads.

Mike Dean produced a strong ride to take second spot, with Tony Bleasdale in third. Ann Bowditch was the first woman, taking fourth spot overall in her fastest time on Guernsey roads – 23.16 – to edge ahead of Commonwealth Games athlete Alan Rowe by one second.

Twenty-five riders contested the event, proving the popularity of the Triathlon Club series.

Seven women competed, with Sam Herridge taking second spot from an improving Tracey Dowinton by just 12 seconds.

Junior rider Alex Ford continues to impress, finishing with a lifetime best of 26.52.

The next race is a five-mile time trial on 14 August. Contact Tom Becker on 01534 609821 for details.
