New staff get a foot in the Cellar Door
Thursday 3rd August 2006, 12:00AM BST.
CELLAR Door has employed two more staff members to coincide with the opening of its new Marina Court shop this month. Rachel Coleman has been appointed manager of Deli Cellar Door and Pauline Nel will hold a supervisory role encompassing wine sales and operations at the new outlet.
‘To be involved with this new concept right from the beginning is very exciting,’ said Ms Coleman, who has an MBA and UK experience in food retailing and personnel management.
‘We will be bringing a new-style deli to Guernsey offering coffees, teas, food and, of course, wines which are totally different to anything that is available anywhere else.’
Ms Nel has spent seasons harvesting grapes in France and South Africa and assisted with the making of several producers’ wines.
‘I feel this is a great opportunity to impart my wine knowledge in a retail environment,’ she said.
Ms Nel also holds professional qualifications specialising in viticulture and wine science.
Cellar Door managing director Sam Spindlow said he was delighted with the new staff.
