Sylvans claim the points

Rovers 0, Sylvans 4

SYLVANS secured their second successive win of the new C&W Priaulx League season yesterday evening. It was hard to fault the endeavour of both sides, but there was a severe lack of quality on show at Port Soif.

Matt Warren gave his team the lead from the penalty spot after 12 minutes and the westerners doubled their advantage before half-time through Ewen Beacom, who followed up for a simple tap-in after Jason Oliveira had parried Danny Le Page’s shot.

After the break, Le Page nodded in the third from Sam Matthews’ free kick and substitute Kris Moherndl completed the scoring late on with Rovers’ appeals for offside falling on deaf ears.
