Grammar girls romp to national semis

GRAMMAR have shot into the semi-finals of the under-19 girls national schools basketball cup. With captain Kerri Brown burying 25 points and Amy Wright 18 Kath Guille’s side swept past Oaks Park High School from Ilford in Essex, 68-24.

‘We played well as a team and all nine got plenty of court time, proving what a strong squad we have,’ said Guille.

‘We were a quicker team and had much better ball handling skills than them,’ she added.

The semi-finals and final are scheduled for the end of April in Birmingham.
