Triple US presence for bank

Wednesday 11th July 2007, 12:00AM BST.

LLOYDS TSB OFFSHORE is now open for business in three strategic locations in the United States. When the Miami office opened in January last year, it became the first bank based in a British offshore island to be granted a licence to provide services from a representative office in the US.

On the back of its success, new offices have been opened in Stamford, Connecticut, and Los Angeles, California, as part of its policy of engaging with international customers wherever they are located.

In addition to using the bank’s 24-hour Phonebank and internet services, US customers in those locations can now benefit from direct contact with the bank’s local representatives.

Mark Johnson, senior manager, strategy, for expatriate banking, said the decision to open the new offices was beneficial both to the bank and its customers.

‘We want to be able to offer our services to as many potential customers as possible and establishing selective physical presences is key to this objective.

‘While existing customers should still refer their queries to Offshore PhoneBank or their international banking advisers as normal, our staff on the ground in the representative offices can add value to the customer relationship.

‘They are physically on hand to explain the specifics of individual products and services.’
