ANOTHER major Bisley trophy is in Guernsey hands after Nick Mace put in a stunning performance in the tie shoot for the Northland Challenge trophy at 600 yards. It made up for his disappointment when a single central ‘V’ bullseye had pushed him into second place for the Wimbledon.

Mace was joined by his Guernsey colleague, Adam Jory, in the Queen’s Prize final hundred. In treacherous wind conditions they battled to stay in the bullseye and finished in 76th and 82nd positions respectively.

The Elizabeth College cadets, who have been shooting throughout the main Bisley meeting, have been more than holding their own and no fewer than six of them earned a place in the prestigious Mackinnon Trophy match shot at the difficult longer ranges of 900 and 1,000 yards.

In the Stickledown competition at 1,000 yards, Alan Le Page shot superbly to take second place, just a point behind the winner with 48 ex 50.
