Bank celebration recognises Swiss heritage
Thursday 9th August 2007, 12:00AM BST.
CREDIT SUISSE threw an alpine-themed party to celebrate Swiss National Day. The event, at the Markets, featured a snow machine and chocolate and Swiss cheese fountains.
It was attended by Guernsey-based intermediaries, employees and 70 local business partners.
Roy McGregor, managing director and chief executive officer in the Channel Islands, said: ‘We have had a presence in Guernsey since 1986. Swiss National Day is an ideal time to celebrate both the bank’s success in the Channel Islands and continuing commitment to our partners in Guernsey and to recognise Credit Suisse’s history and heritage.’
He said the local success had undoubtedly been supported by Guernsey’s reputation as a jurisdiction with strong regulation, stable government and a highly-skilled workforce.
‘I am confident that we are ideally positioned to offer leading private banking and investment services through our Channel Island branches and we look forward to continuing to work with our partners in this market.’
All 450 staff were invited to a drinks party on the same evening to thank them for their contribution during another busy year.
‘Working for one of the world’s leading banks brings so much strength and depth to the services that we can provide,’ said Mr McGregor.
‘Over the past 18 months, Credit Suisse has introduced a new approach to business and from a client perspective, I’m sure that they have noticed and appreciated the way that our One Bank policy has resulted in an increased range of investment products and ideas being offered to them.
‘From a staff perspective, the opportunities for career development are boundless.
‘All this means that I’m confident that we are in a better position than ever to offer private banking and investment services through our Channel Island branches.’
