Eggo holds off Mahy for win
Friday 10th August 2007, 12:00AM BST.
BOBBY EGGO came from two shots back at halfway to win the prestigious Le Riche Cup at glorious L’Ancresse yesterday. The Royal Guernsey star followed his morning 72 with a two-under 68 and it was just enough to pip Steve Mahy by a shot.
The L’Ancresse man had opened with a level-par 70 and added a one-over 71 to finish closest to the multiple Le Riche winner.
Mick Marley was third on 143 (70, 71) but it was not a great day for Danny Bisson, the defending champion, who, having produced a 70 from his mid-morning start time, ripped up in the afternoon.
Tom Pattimore was one-shot winner of the handicap section for the Tradesmen’s Cup, shooting rounds of 67 and 68.
