Priaulx up to second after Oschersleben
Monday 27th August 2007, 12:00AM BST.
A SOLITARY point separates Andy Priaulx and new World Touring Car Championship leader Augusto Farfus. Both BMW drivers accumulated 12 points during a successful weekend in Oschersleben, Germany, to overtake previous table-topper Jorg Muller.
Having qualified eighth on Saturday, Priaulx moved up to finish fifth in race one, a place behind Muller and two ahead of Farfus.
Yvan Muller made motorsport history in that round as he became the first driver to win a FIA world championship race with a diesel engine.
Starting race two from fourth on the grid, Priaulx was up into second behind Farfus by the first corner and the two then had a 14-lap ding-dong battle with the Brazilian just managing to keep the Sarnian at bay, despite several taps on his rear bumper from the Guernseyman.
