Fallaize joy at win tempered by pile-up
Tuesday 28th August 2007, 12:00AM BST.
ST MARTIN’S edged out North on penalties after a 10-goal thriller in Sunday’s second Rawlinson Cup semi-final at The Track. With the scores five apiece after normal and extra time, it was Saints who held their nerve in the shootout to score four from the spot to North’s three.
Saints’ goals in open play came courtesy of Chris Le Noury, Charles Pinsard, Dom Heaume and two from Craig Farnham while Railway keeper James Robert had an absolute stormer in goal.
North’s five goals were provided by veteran centre back Stuart Polson, who bagged two penalties during normal time, two from young substitute Bradley Atkinson and one from Jamie Ferbrache.
Saints now face Bels in tomorrow’s final and although their coach Colin Fallaize is not being disrespectful to the competition he says it’s a match they would rather not play with the Priaulx league kicking off next Saturday.
‘It’s a bit of a nuisance, I don’t really need this game at the moment,’ he said of the fixture pile-up.
