New name says it all

NM ROTHSCHILD & Sons (CI) Ltd changes its name today after 40 years. It will now be known as Rothschild Bank International Ltd.

‘We decided our new name should tell customers that we are a bank and that we do business internationally,’ said managing director Peter Rose.

‘When we opened in 1967, the company was a subsidiary of the London bank, NM Rothschild & Sons Ltd, so the name was logical for the business at that time.

‘But much has changed, not least that our business has become primarily focused on banking, and the other services we originally supplied, trust and investment management, are now carried out separately within the Rothschild Group in Guernsey.

‘Also, we are now a direct subsidiary of the group holding company.’
