INTERNATIONAL recognition for the quality of work offered by Guernsey-linked outsourcing company Digital Accounts International will be celebrated in the City of London. The company has been shortlisted for service provider of the year. It will join about 500 top industry players at The Brewery on 18 October to hear the result.

‘We are absolutely delighted to have been nominated, not just for ourselves but because it also places Guernsey under the international spotlight for all of the right reasons by highlighting the commitment to working at the highest level,’ said finance director Mark Woodall.

As well as having its own local presence, Digital Accounts has a working partnership with International Fund Administration (Guernsey) Ltd.

Mr Woodall said the nomination was testament to the quality of outsourcing on offer.

‘We carried out a great deal of research into the best way of ensuring that the highest level of accountancy work was available through outsourcing. Digital Accounts International is unusual because a locally-based server ensures that data does not leave the island.

‘It offers an effective combination of on-island presence, UK-based experts and a suitably-qualified back office in a low-cost jurisdiction,’ he said.

He said that the squeeze on Guernsey’s recruitment ability could be eased by that type of support.

‘Outsourcing is not about cost-cutting. It will allow companies to manage their expansion and improve turnover without the island having to meet the burden of a larger population and all of the social pressures that entails,’ he added.
