‘Dad did sell my sister to men for £5 a time’

A YOUNG woman’s claim that she was the victim of a paedophile ring is true, says her brother. The man, who does not want his identity revealed, came forward after people questioned the veracity of his sister’s story.
She said that not only was she raped by her own father at the age of three, but also that her father’s friends paid him £5 a time to have sex with her.
‘I want to set the record straight, once and for all,’ said her brother.
‘Some people have said it is a made-up publicity stunt and questioned if my sister has got anything from it. I wish it was, but unfortunately it’s true.
‘We lived in a house where literally anything went. My dad’s friends never had to knock on the door. They just came in and did what they wanted.
‘There could have been men going in and out of my sister’s room at any time. I remember money being passed around, but I never knew what it was specifically for.’
The man, who is a year younger than his sister, was never a victim but believes his sibling’s claims are genuine.
Police interviewed him as a witness when she made her first complaint 12 years ago.
When his sister first told him of the abuse, the brother did not speak to her for two years because he looked up to his father.
‘I wrote a letter to him because he lives in the UK now and I asked him if he had ever had sex with her and he didn’t answer yes or no,’ he said.
‘The strange thing is that some of my father’s friends who abused my sister have moved to the same area of the UK as him.
‘I couldn’t honestly say whether they were operating a paedophile ring or not over there, but they all live near each other and it makes you wonder.’
Guernsey is a safe haven for paedophiles because the community is too trusting, he said.
‘It’s not like England. I believe there are more than what the police know about and we should definitely have a sex offenders’ register.’
