Alison has her dream salon

THE owner of a new health and beauty salon in Smith Street left behind a career in finance to fulfil her dream. Alison Fletcher opened Innova in Town two months ago and said she was not regretting the decision one bit.

‘The change is a pleasurable one. It’s lovely being able to provide a service to clients and to see them leave the salon happy and relaxed.’

Innova shares premises with Activ Hair and employs four staff, including Miss Fletcher.

Heidi Bougourd and Rebecca Molnar are beauticians and Lisa Mahy is a masseuse.

The salon comprises a reception on the ground level, a nail bar and make-up area on the first floor and three treatment rooms above.

Innova offers a range of treatments, but specialises in the Mama Mio skin care range championed by Victoria Beckham before and during her recent pregnancy.

‘Mama Mio is doing really well for us. We offer home visits six months into pregnancy and for up to three months after giving birth.’

Having lived in Barcelona for 18 years, Miss Fletcher moved to Guernsey and a career in banking three years ago.

‘It’s very different working in health and beauty. I didn’t realise how competitive it was, but this is more of an enjoyable pressure.

‘The first two months have gone really well and we’re now up to 12-15 clients a day.’
