Ozanne scoops the main honours

Tuesday 27th November 2007, 12:00AM GMT.

THE final autocross meeting of 2007 was run on a soft beach in bright winter sunshine. ‘Ozzy’ Ozanne again scooped the main honours after points leader Leeroy Sebire failed to finish his final race after a third driveshaft broke on his two cars.

Peter Jory also benefited, gaining second in the main race to move six points behind now joint championship leaders Ozanne and Sebire.

Trevor Breton had his best result with a third place and Martyn Lowe grabbed the other point available from the race of firsts.

With all this A Team Carpentary are only one point ahead of Starfish Patrollers in the team standings.

The latter outscored all the others to move closer to the championship, but the ASBOs slipped behind, Lowe being their best scorer.

Peter Rose won both standard-tyres races to move 12 points ahead in a championship that concludes in May.

Lowe and Dan Pinchemain are joint second, both gaining second places on the day.

Sebire did manage another win in the reverse track with chicane race to make it four out of four this season.

Three drivers share second place, but Sebire is safe for at least three more meetings, such is his lead.

Jory continues to lead the small car series and another win has put him five points ahead of Breton and Darren Leadbeater.

Darren Le Gallez took a maiden grand slam win, holding off Breton and Chris Norman, never being headed in the last race of the year.
