THE flexible interaction between special needs and mainstream pupils will be one of the biggest achievements of St Sampson’s High and Le Murier.
According to Education’s project planning manager Geraint Ap Sion, the schools’ shared facilities will allow pupils to integrate as much or as little as necessary. ‘Although Le Murier is a stand-alone school, pupils from either school have access to the other and they have shared areas and shared facilities. Pupils will pass each other every day and there’ll be a lot of interaction between the two, which, of course, is a good thing,’ said Mr Ap Sion.
The schools, which are on schedule for opening in September, both occupy the Les Nicolles site and are physically joined, but with separate entrances.
