Sir Trevor makes a date to watch the Corbet Cup final

SIR TREVOR BROOKING is to attend the Deloitte Corbet Cup final.

The former England star is the FA director of football development and has been invited to the island by the GFA director for youth and football development, Chris Schofield.

‘Following England’s failure to qualify for Euro 2008, the national press heralded the 9 v. 9, three-quarter-size pitch format as the way to bridge the transition from mini soccer to the 11 v. 11 adult game,’ said Schofield. ‘In Guernsey we are now in our third season in this format and I invited Sir Trevor to see at first hand the quality of football it can produce.’
