Regional victory for Whalley

MAXIME WHALLEY has gained a ticket to the National Championships in April at Harptbury College.

She rode her six-year-old gelding, Essentially DiNiall, to victory in the elementary freestyle-to-music restricted class at the British Dressage Regional Cham-pionships at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre.

The class was also run with an open section in which Whalley was placed third overall. Riding her test at 9am, she then had a nervous wait until the class finished at 2pm to see if she had held her leading position.
